Buckle Buddies Hotline

Want to report a child riding unsafely in a vehicle? Kohl's Buckle Buddies features a statewide, toll-free, non-punitive hotline, 1-888-RUSCBUDDY or 1-888-787-2283.

This hotline can be used to report any South Carolina license vehicle/tag carrying an unrestrained or improperly restrained child passenger in a motor vehicle. The caller leaves the South Carolina license plate, vehicle description, location and time where observed. The information is shared with the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS). SCDPS mails the registered owner of the vehicle an informational packet explaining the program, along with information from Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital on child passenger safety and the South Carolina child restraint law. This hotline is a way for community members to help spread the word about the importance of keeping our kids safe on the road!
